PUBLIC NOTICE – SCHOOL AND TRANSPORTATION REOPEN AS OF MAY 25, 2021

Due to the decreasing numbers of active Covid cases in Piikani Nation and Alberta, PBOE schools will be open for students and busses operating.  This includes busses to/from Pincher Creek and Fort Macleod.

Scenario #2 – In School Classes Partially Resume
With Additional Health Measures Including Cohorts
Cohort A – Start date May 25, 2021
Cohort B – Start date May 31, 2021

A reminder: If your child/ren have one or more Covid symptoms (coughing, sneezing, fever, headaches, chills or other flu-like symptoms – please keep your child/ren at home until symptoms end. PBOE recommends that your child/ren also book an appointment for a Covid test. Any child/ren who attends school with these symptoms will be required to return home.

Wear a mask on the bus and at school.
Hand sanitize.
Keep our Piikani Nation safe.

PUBLIC NOTICE – May 5 , 2021: Scenario #3 – CoVid Response for Education

Due to continued high number of active Covid cases in Alberta and recommendation by Alberta Health, PBOE schools will be closed to students and busses will not be operating from  Friday May 7 to Monday May 24 (inclusive). This includes busses to/from Pincher Creek and Fort Macleod.

PBOE schools will keep students/families informed as to  next steps for at-home/on-line learning.

Wear a mask. Hand sanitize. Immunize.

COVID-19 Vaccine

COVID-19 Vaccine

First Nations, Métis and Inuit people born in 1986 or earlier (35 years of age and older), and those with health conditions (Phase 2B) born in 2005 or before can attend to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
For youth born between 2009 and 2006, make sure to have first contacted your physician and received a doctor’s note (required).

AAKOM-KIYII HEALTH SERVICES – 1ST DOSE COVID-19 VACCINE CLINIC

Friday April 9th 2021
Location: Conference Center
9:30am – 3:00 pm: 18 + year olds

**DO NOT bring your children**
**please wear a short sleeve shirt**

This is 1 of 2 mandatory doses. First come, first serve, as supplies last – no appointment needed.

Bring with you:

  • A Mask
  • Alberta Health ID

Cohort A – Start date March 8-12, 2021

PBOE wants to remind families & students as with all pandemic related activities, there is risk involved in having your children leave your home. PBOE has taken additional health measures to decrease risk for your child/ren by increasing sanitizing on busses and when in school.

A reminder: If your child/ren have one or more Covid symptoms (running nose, coughing, sneezing, fever, headaches, chills or other flu-like symptoms – please keep your child/ren at home until symptoms end. PBOE recommends that your child/ren also book an appointment for a Covid test. Any child/ren who attends school with these symptoms will be required to return home.
