PBOE Update to Community
April 9, 2020
Over the past few weeks our school staff – teachers, instructors, educational assistants, and office administration – have done their very best to support your child. They are working hard to help your child(ren) achieve learning outcomes in their school programs including Blackfoot Language & Culture.
School staff were on site April 2, 2020 to support families in picking up at-home learning packages. Again on April 9, 2020, school staff and bus drivers, delivered packages that had not been picked up. This is our attempt to support student learning at home as we respond to ever changing dynamics in Alberta. In the work we do at PBOE, we want to assure our students and families that we are adhering to Health Guidelines for Pandemic Response.
Spring/Easter break for PBOE schools begins this Friday, April 10th and it ends on Sunday, April 19th. This will allow our students, parents & families, and our staff to recharge and spend time with their families. There are no expectations to continue the learning at home during this time. Your child(ren) may continue working on the at-home learning packages at any time.
When we return from Spring/East break, on Monday, April 20th, we will continue to support your child with their school work. At that time, please help us at home by encouraging them to fully engage in their learning whenever possible including land based learning activities. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or to school Principal’s for assistance or supports.
Thanks for supporting our school staff as we do our best to support you and your family in a new learning environment. Special thanks to PBOE Transportation Services as they continue to support learning and food security within Piikani Nation.
During this time, I sincerely hope that you are able to stay safe and healthy, and that you find strength among your family and friends.
Respectfully,
Lisa Crowshoe – Superintendent
