Duties & Responsibilities
- Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the regular teacher in a given day;
- Follows lessons plans provided by classroom teacher to facilitate appropriate learning experiences for students;
- Maintains appropriate records in the absence of the teacher;
- Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings;
- Communicates and interacts with students, staff, parents and the community as necessary;
- Ensures all materials are read and prepared for instruction;
- Monitors and evaluates student outcomes;
- Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students;
- Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of children;
- Maintains appropriate records in the absence of the teacher and follows required procedures and practices;
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Education degree;
- Alberta Teaching Certificate;
- A satisfactory police information check which includes the Vulnerable Sector Check;
- A satisfactory Intervention Record Check;
- Knowledge of Blackfoot/Piikani Language & Culture an asset.
